Purity Culture Research Collective
Purity culture research that centers hope and healing.
The Purity Culture Research Collective (PCRC) was founded in 2021 by Liv Schultz and Tessi Muskrat as a space for academic researchers studying purity culture to meet and discuss ongoing projects.
Since then, it has grown to an interdisciplinary research collective of over twenty academic and independent scholars, practitioners, and artists.
Our disciplines include psychology, rhetoric, studio art, writing, religious studies, sociology, political science, and women and gender studies, among many others.
As a group, we meet monthly to discuss our ongoing projects, get feedback, brainstorm with, and support one another. Members of our collective also often independently meet with one another, co-author articles, and present at conferences together.
